Dental complications such as a toothache can strike at any time. Fortunately, there are temporary solutions to relieve any discomfort until you can visit a dentist, which experts say you should do as quickly as possible. Here’s a simple tip to alleviate your discomfort. To get rid of toothache pain, here’s several things to try: Rinse the area with warm salty water (approx one quarter to one-half teaspoon to a glass of warm water) Use clove oil which you can buy at health-food stores and some drug stores. Clove oil helps to numb the sore area. Cover the tooth with sugar-free gum to minimize contact with food and fluids. If pain persists you can take ibuprofen, aspirin or acetaminophen as directed until you can get to your dentist. Don’t postpone seeing your dentist as this can cause bigger problems down the road.
